Helping Little Hands Initiative is a child-focused organization committed to saving newborn lives across Nigeria. We are focused on tackling one of the leading causes of neonatal death, birth asphyxia. This is a preventable condition that continues to claim thousands of lives within the first minutes of life. We believe that no child should die at birth because basic equipment or skilled care was unavailable.
Our mission is to reduce neonatal mortality by strengthening care at the point of delivery. We work with primary healthcare centers, maternity homes, and traditional birth attendants to ensure they have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to perform life-saving neonatal resuscitation.
Provide Life-Saving Equipment We supply neonatal resuscitation kits at subsidized rates to underserved facilities. Train Healthcare Providers We equip healthcare workers and birth attendants with practical, evidence-based neonatal resuscitation skills. Support Referral Systems We help establish clear referral pathways so newborns who need advanced care can be identified early and transferred quickly.
Every minute counts when a baby is born without breathing. With the right intervention within the first minute of life, survival is possible. Our work focuses on closing the gap between birth and survival by making simple, effective care available where it is needed most.
